Huyen Khanh Do is a soloist and collaborative pianist, currently based in Los Angeles. She earned a Bachelor's in Piano Performance at Cal State Fullerton, a Masters at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and a Doctorate at the University of Southern California. She began piano studies at the age of 6, and has worked with teachers such as Sofia Zukerman, Alison Edwards, Stephen Pierce, and Emile Naoumoff. Equally versatile in solo and collaborative playing, she has been a laureate of competitions such as the Gail Newby Concerto Competition, the La Mirada Arts Competition, the Redlands Bowl Young Artists Auditions, the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, the American Protégé International Concerto Competition, and the Latin American Recording Competition, among others. In 2008, she became a National Guild artist and earned the Paderewski medal for her achievements.
Huyen Khanh has given concerts in nationwide venues, including the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace Memorial, Roselle Hall, Meng Hall, and the Redlands Bowl. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2014, playing a solo programme in Weill Recital Hall. Her studies have allowed her to participate in several masterclasses, including those taught by Menahem Pressler, Gabriela Montero, Nelita True, and Pavel Nersessian. She embarked on a concert tour in 2010 as part of the International Music for Institute and Festival, which allowed her to give solo performances across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York. She has attended and performed in music festivals such as the International Institute for Young Musicians and the New York Summit Music Festival.
She has performed in concerts such as the Young Talents showcase and Stars of Tomorrow, as well as appearing as a soloist with the La Mirada Symphony Orchestra, Orange County Collegiate Orchestra, the Indiana University Philharmonic, and the Southern California Philharmonic, working under the batons of conductors such as Nathaniel Meyer, Larry Livingston, and Branden Muresan. She continues to remain active as a soloist and collaborative artist.
